I am not alone!

Today I found out that there is more of my kind in the neighborhood!

While driving home from work this afternoon, I saw someone else with a Green Party sign in their driveway. At last, I am not the only one! Being in rural Alberta, this is quite the sight: two Green Party lawn signs within a half-kilometre of each other. I was so excited I forgot to stop at the mailbox and pick up the mail.

His sign was one of the new ones - mine is still the older one that I've re-used from our provincial election that was held in the Spring. The party volunteer that brought me the sign at that time said I could keep it, since even then there was the potential for a federal election any time.

It's nice knowing I'm not alone, even here in the bastion of Conservative support that is rural Alberta.

gosh, you were never alone!

Despite my comments I am totally with you in support of the Green party. I may not think they are the only solution, but I definitely think they are the best political option we have. I don't have a lawn or I think I'd have a sign up too. My balcony doesn't even face anyone!!.

Isn't it nice to find others who believe in the same things within your community?

Hey SBT - don't worry I knew I wasn't alone in the province, but to see someone else with a Green Party sign right on their very own property, that was something to behold, let me tell you!

Emme - yes, it sure is :) It gives me hope that things may actually be starting to change. Although I won't hold my breath for a Green MP in Alberta any time soon. And I will wait for the actual election results before I let myself get too excited....

It is good to hear that you have saved that sign. I hope that other people will take note and do the same.

We keep our election "decorations" next to the Christmas and Halloween ones in the basement. Recycling signs is one small way that we can show our committment to our principles.

Thanks George - that's one of the main reasons I really like the Green Party: they walk the walk. I think it is way better to have plastic and metal signs that can be reused repeatedly than it is to have single-use wooden and cardboard signs.
