So I've been trying to clean with natural or at least non-toxic cleaners these days. This past weekend we've been doing a fairly big clean up around the house in preparation for guests and I decided to try and use this newfangled baking soda stuff I've heard so much about. It was amazing!I was cleaning my linoleum bathroom floor, which can get fairly gunky over time and the baking soda cut right through everything, with no residue! I may clean more floor more often it was so easy! I just sprinkled a bit on my hot, damp cloth, wiped and presto! Clean floor! I sound fairly enthusiastic about this I know, but it was really quite surprising to me how well it worked.

We have been doing the baking soda thing in our apartment for a while and it works great. We try to buy brands other than Arm and Hammer though, they test on animals.
Thanks for that info, BP. I have always bought Arm and Hammer because that's what my mom always bought. But I will buy differently from now on.
I know how that goes, I find myself stuck in food ruts because that is what I grew up with. I still prefer stove to stuffing on Thanksgiving over homemade stuffing. the Peta website will give you a list of manufactures that are cruelty free.
I will check that out. For some reason I only think about cosmetics and shampoos and stuff being tested on animals, but I suppose there are all sorts of things that get tested that way.
Count me in as another baking soda cleaning fan. I keep an old spice jar with a shaker lid filled up by the kitchen sink, too.
Well, I checked out the Peta site today and there are quite a few things I'm going to have to avoid from now on.
