I'm planning to take a couple more days off of work this summer so I can help at the farm - hopefully at least one of them will be a Monday. I really like your use of the word primal in the context of food growing and feeding. It really doesn't get any more primal and profound than that, does it? Ah, and I see you've started a blog too - I look forward to reading your thoughts and ideas!Theresahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03908227916944431265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2018539519561702876.post-44977593738172557182008-06-10T17:47:00.000-06:002008-06-10T17:47:00.000-06:00It was great to meet you out at the farm that day....It was great to meet you out at the farm that day. :) It is nice to know that other CSA-ers share our goal of "more than meeting" our work-share committment.

As you know while our work share could be done in two days, we have committed to Graham that we will be there every Monday afternoon unless he calls to tell us no! So far we have kept this committment, and it is inspiring to see the changes in the farm from week to week :)

Those baby lettuces that we put in that day look amazing, and will likely be in our share on Tuesday next week (June 17th).

In response to maggie's pondering:

I do think that our young people will be prepared to work to eat. My daughter will be home from school soon and she LOVES coming out to the farm. Her big concern for the summer is how to schedule her summer job so that she can work our Monday afternoons with us!

There is something very primal about helping to feed not only ourselves, but our family and community. Once people - of any age - are introduced to it many of them just have to keep on doing it because it feels so right!HerMammahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09306188645611512045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2018539519561702876.post-2195022715541648912008-05-29T14:11:00.000-06:002008-05-29T14:11:00.000-06:00That is some good pondering! I imaging they will ...That is some good pondering! I imaging they will do it, but whether they'll be prepared to do it could be a different matter. Heck, I'm far from prepared to do it, in so many ways, but I'm practicing, nonetheless!Theresahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03908227916944431265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2018539519561702876.post-88809132952527607742008-05-29T14:03:00.000-06:002008-05-29T14:03:00.000-06:00Do you think future generations or the young peopl...Do you think future generations or the young people today will be prepared to work so hard to grow food? Just Pondering!Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17155210756905386478noreply@blogger.com
